The Seascape Collection

Sometimes collections come together easily, sometimes not, but it was obvious as soon as we arrived in Florida that  a new collection, based in the USA would be quite different to those we’d created in the UK.  Living in the sun leads to a completely different attitude to color, while the many lakes, ponds and fountains, in addition to the ocean, mean that water was an obvious inspiration. When we receive a sample of hand painted silk the collection came together very quickly – teal, turquoise and lime combined in many ways to create different looks, all equally flattering.

There’s always one item which we end up making for ourselves because we like it so much – and in the case of  ‘Marina’s Bloomers’ we’ve already had to re-order the fabric. So many people have asked us for simple but feminine pajamas with shorts or cropped trousers. Marina’s Bloomers are youthful, practical made from eyelet lace in a polyester cotton mix which washed really well and with care needn’t be ironed. The version in the picture was snapped up by our model,  and in our workroom we’ve  had several sets requested for daughters. The fabric is cool and resists creasing and the design is comfortable as well as feminine. Our pictured version is in aqua, but we can make it for you in other colors, such as pink, white and pansy.

Similar in design is our camisole and satin boxer set, ‘Blue Caprice’.  We’ve normally made this in silk, but of course clients often ask us for the more practical polyester satin version. Blue Caprice is made in teal, a deep turquoise color which flatters most people, regardless of coloring.  Use this set as pajamas or as underwear, and of course we can make it in any color.

The Blue Caprice set is extremely versatile -  matching silk georgette drawstring pants added to the camisole make elegant evening pajamas.  Evening pajamas were the height of style in the early part of last century when it was still daring for women to wear mens clothing. Made from silk or satin and often highly decorated, evening pajamas were designed for glamorous evenings at home, either with the family or entertaining guests.

The centrpice of the collection is our Blue Caprice butterfly robe. The silk is hand painted and has a crease resistant finish. It is washable (with care) and gloriously romantic, with it’s sweeping sleeves, cape back, and delicate silver edge.

The final co-ordinating item is is our abalone dreams nightgown, also in teal satin in matches the camisole and boxers and teams beautifully with the butterfly robe. As shown the gown is knee length, but of course you can choose any length from thigh to floor. With stretch lace cups and cross over straps with nightgown is extremely comfortable as well as eminently practical.

To ring the changes, the nightgown also co-ordinates with our abalone dreams robe. Made from colorful pure silk chiffon this robe is extremely light and a useful wardrobe addition as it will match many nightgown colors.  

The final items in this collection are designed to get the pulses racing. ‘Siren’s Call’ is a sapphire blue babydoll nightgown set made from satin and chiffon and with side tie panties. Ideal for those with long legs who love to show them, and of course available in other colors.  Coral breeze is a boudoir ensemble or bra and skirted panties ideal for nights at home, when the matching chiffon wrap will help to keep the chill off.
